Patrick Jones talks Pitt
Just had a quick exchange with Va defensive end Patrick Jones.
Lots of information regarding potential Pitt defensive end recruits. Quayshon Alexander, Zack Gilbert, Jake Lawler and not Patrick Jones.
Jones (6-5, 230) is from Chesapeake, Virginia and has been in contact with Pitt for quite some time. Like Gilbert, Jones tells me that he’ll be visiting Pitt for the Louisville game on the 21st.
“This will be my first time ever in Pittsburgh”, said Jones. While there I’ll be looking at the academic part of the school.”
According to Jones, he talks to the Pitt coaches often, in fact he said, “I talk to them almost every day.”
Jones is currently still in the playoffs with his high school team and personally he’s had a great season. The talented DE earned 1st team all conference DE and also was named defensive player of the year in his conference.
As far as finalists, Jones has named a final five: Pitt, Virginia Tech, NC State, California and Illinois.
So when would he like to make a final decision?
“I would like to commit by the end of November of early December.”
In the end, I believe it will come down to Virginia Tech and Pitt for Jones.
