Where Will Pitt Go “Bowling?”

Published

on

Now that Pitt’s 2015 regular season is completed it’s time for the staff to start recruiting and for the team to find out which bowl game they’ll be playing in.

I was on the phone today with sources and people close to the program and here’s what I was able to find out.

I have it on very good word that Pitt VERY MUCH wants to get an invite from the Pinstripe Bowl.  They’ve been in contact with Pinstripe Bowl reps and have been trying to make a case for themselves.

The reason Pitt very much wants the Pinstripe Bowl is because of the proximity to Pittsburgh and the amount of fans they believe could travel to the game. The school believes in Pat Narduzzi’s first year, it’s important to bring/travel fans to his first bowl game. It would be a sign of progress and will start momentum towards next year.

Another reason that Pitt wants to play in New York is the media attention it would get. I believe there’s a good chance all 3 TV stations, both newspapers and other media outlets would cover the bowl game if it’s in New York City.

Right now, I’m hearing that the Pinstripe Bowl could be looking at Wisconsin or Indiana as the Big 10 representative.

The other bowl that’s been in contact with Pitt often over the last couple of weeks has been the Sun Bowl.
