Tuesday Pitt Recruiting News

Here are some things that I’ve gathered today regarding Pitt recruiting and also players that Pitt are interested in.

*Penn State was in the area today and stopped by to see at least 2 local products.  Hearing that Penn State assistant  Terry Smith was by to see McKeesport’s Khaleke Hudson and also check in on Steel Valley’s DeWayne Murray.

*Clairton 2017 5-star CB Lamont Wade tweeted out that “Ohio State stopped past today.”  Being only a junior, they can’t officially talk to him but are permitted to go to his school and visit head coach or athletic director.

*The Pitt coaching staff extended an offer to an out of state recruit.  2016 LB Collin Miller (Fishers, Indiana) announced today that he’s received an offer from Pitt.  Miller (6-3, 230) was originally committed to Purdue but has since de-committed.  I hope to have more on this later on today.

*I’m trying to confirm this but I’m hearing from a recruit that was supposed to meet with Pitt today. For some reason, it didn’t happen.  Trying to find out why.

UPDATE (10:12 PM):

**McKeesport’s Khaleke Hudson says that he’ll make an official visit to UCLA on December 11th…..

*Woodland Hills TE Stephen Puhl tells me that Indiana stopped by his school today to see him.

*Pitt defensive coordinator Josh Conklin is in Florida and tomorrow he’ll visit with CB Henry Miller (Kissimmee, Fla.)……Miller (6-3, 195) is a very good cornerback prospects.  Holds offers from Michigan State, Mississippi State, NC State, North Carolina, Wisconsin and West Virginia.  Hoping to talk with Miller tomorrow.

*KDKA-TV’s Richie Walsh was tweeting back and forth with a follower about the impact of attendance on a recruit and Central Catholic’s Damar Hamlin jumped in an gave his opinion.  Walsh asked Hamlin his top 5 factors and here’s how the elite cornerback prospect responded:

–Education –Coaches/teammates –opportunity to play early  –can my family see me play

UPDATE (10:53 PM):

***Interesting tweet tonight from Virginia 2017 4-star DE Tyjuan Garbutt.

“I’m trying to play both ways in college like Myles Jack and Jordan Whitehead

Aside from DE, Garbutt also plays TE in high school.  Since the start, he’s been a big fan of Pitt, especially Pat Narduzzi.  He’s a recruit to keep your eye on.

I’m expecting to hear back from a few more recruits today so check back for updates.
