Pitt FB Recruiting

Wednesday Morning News & Notes

Published

Good morning everyone, working on a lot of updates for today.

**Today is decision day for Virginia defensive end Patrick Jones. This afternoon at 4 PM, Jones will decide between Pitt and Virginia Tech. Not sure how this will go but if I had to guess, I’d guess Jones picks Pitt.

**Where will Pitt coaches be  today?

—Pitt defensive coordinator’s big target today is Florida CB Henry Miller. He’s a tall cornerback (6-3) with a lot of big offers. Conklin is hoping to get him to make an official visit

—Pitt defensive line coach Tom Sims will be recruiting in Chicago today. Working to confirm this but I’d have to imagine he’s going to visit DE Amir Watts (6-3, 270).  I’ve talked to Watts and he’s expressed interest in visiting Pitt. Will try to update this.

—Will be an Intersting day for Pitt RB coach Andre Powell. He’ll be going to see 2 very Intersting prospects.  First will be 4-star CB Patrice Rene (6-2, 203) from Alexandria,  Virginia.  He’s committed to Rutgers but that could be up in the air.  I’ll have more on this later.  Following Rene, Powell will be headed to see 4-star LB Cameron Brown, who’s verbally committed to Penn State.   I believe Powell has another stop after that but I need to confirm it first.

UPDATE (9:57 AM)-

**Pitt LB coach Rob Harley was in Georgia yesterday  recruiting both 2016 and 2017 prospects . I can confirm that he stopped in on 2017 LB Tyler Taylor (Sugar Hill, GA) along with his teammate 2017 LB Juwuan Jones.  He also talked with a recruit that’s committed to another school, I’ll have details on that soon.

***Check back later for more updates because I’ll have a bunch today
