Pitt FB Recruiting

Can Pitt Flip 4-Star CB?

on

The Pitt Panthers are finalists for some elite secondary talent .  They’re still in the running for Damar Hamlin, Khaleke Hudson, Henry Miller and now are in the running for 4-star CB Patrice Rene.

Rene (6-3, 190)  is currently a Rutgers commit but that didn’t stop him from hosting Pitt coach Andre Powell for an in-home visit (Alexandria, Virginia).

Following his visit last night, I had the chance to talk with Rene about where things stand for him.

“The coaching change at Rutgers definitely changed my feelings towards the school because I committed to that staff”, said Rene. “So that obviously put things in a different perspective for me.”

“I’m most definitely open about my recruitment right now and I’m talking to schools that express interest.”

One of those schools is Pitt and Rene told me about the visit last night.

“Coach Powell and I talked about football abit and what Pitt has going on for them and where they’re headed as a program”, said Rene. “We also talked about where I would fit in. But we spoke about life as well and just had a genuine conversation.”

“I like Pitt, especially because of Coach Narduzzi. Him and I had a great relationship when he was at Michigan State. And I’ll think about taking an official visit there.”

Aside from Pitt, California also visited him and offered him a scholarship. Also,  Rene took one of his 5 official visits to Wisconsin and plans on visiting Boston College this coming weekend.

Will Pitt get one of Rene’s 2 remaining visits?
