Wednesday Pitt Recruiting Notes

Here are a few Pitt recruiting notes I’ve gathered:

**Congrats to a couple of Pitt 2016 recruits: WR Ruben Flower and LB Kaezon Pugh. Rivals.com named Flowers one of Rivals top 250 and Pugh was moved to a 4-star recruit. Both will have a chance to contribute to Pitt next season.

**The Pitt coaches conducted a visit today with McKeesport’s Khaleke Hudson. Over the last 5 days, Hudson has had in-home visits with Pitt, Penn State, UCLA and Wisconsin.  In my opinion, Hudson will be the most difficult recruit for Pitt to land.  If they do, it will be a GIANT recruiting win.

**Tomorrow, Pitt LB coach Rob Harley will meet with FS KJ Sails from Gibsonton, Florida. Sails (5-11, 170) originally was a commit to Iowa but 2 weeks later decided to de-commit. The 3-star safety has already taken official visits to Iowa and Wisconsin.  I’m hoping to talk to Sails later tonight.

**Pitt coaches have been very busy making contact with recruits in the Class of 2017 and 2018. College coaches aren’t permitted yet to speak with HS juniors or sophomores.

Two players that I’ve confirmed that Pitt coaches have contacted are: 2017 CB Harrison Hand from Cherry Hills, New Jersey. Hand (5-11, 180) is already a 3-star recruit and has offers from Rutgers and Temple. Defensive coordinator Josh Conklin stopped by his school on Monday.

The other recruit is 2018 Dennis Briggs from Kissimmee, Florida. Briggs is only a sophomore but is already 6-4, 235 defensive end.  Briggs goes to the same school as cornerback Henry Miller.  Pitt has been in his high school twice in the last week. Briggs already has an offer from Mississippi State.

**I’ve been told that Josh Conklin planned to be in Altoona late this afternoon.  Not sure yet who Conklin was there to see/check on. Tomorrow, I’m told that Conklin will be in Ohio to visit 4-star prospect George Hill. Pitt is trying very hard to land Hill, going up against Michigan State and Wisconsin.

UPDATE (9:43 PM)-

***Pitt recruit Maurice Ffrench hosted Pitt CB coach Renaldo Hill for an in-home visit. Earlier this week, Ffrench received an offer from hometown school Rutgers.

UPDATE (10:22 PM)-

**LB coach Rob Harley was at Clairton HS today checking in on  2017 CB Lamont Wade. Pitt wasn’t the only school there, so were UCLA, Tennessee and West Virginia.
