Big Recruiting Weekend

Pitt football fans want to know if the now famous “Pat Signal” will appear this weekend.

If I had to guess, I’d say it would and maybe twice.

The football team’s weekend of hosting recruits for their official visits has begun.  Pitt will be hosting 8 football recruits this weekend.

Here’s a list of who’s here and where Pitt stands with that player.

George Hill, RB/S (Hubbard, Ohio)- It’s good news  that Pitt has him on campus this weekend. Bad news is that they appear to trail both Michigan St and Wisconsin. For Pitt’s sake, hopefully someone or something makes an impression this weekend. The former Ohio St commit would be a statement get for Pat Narduzzi.

Henry Miller, CB (Kissimmee, Fla)- Pitt seems to have made up a lot of ground with Miller over the past 2 weeks. The coaching staff has been to his home multiple times. Miller is down to Pitt, Rutgers and NC State. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller commits while on the visit.

Quayshon Alexander, DE (Wayne, NJ)- Alexander has been after dating back to Paul Chryst’s staff. Despite being committed to Nebraska, Alexander is making the visit. The same things I said regarding George Hill apply to Alexander.

Brandon Ford, OT ( Upper St. Clair)- Ford is already committed to Pitt. I’m sure a lot of his weekend will consist of being a recruiter for Pitt.

Zack Williams, OT (Citra, Fla)- Williams is a player that Ford could be spending some time with. Coach Peterson has been to Williams home twice in the past couple weeks. IMO, Williams is the most likely player to commit to Pitt.

Phil Campbell, S (New Jersey)- Campbell is currently a Rutgers commitment but that’s shaky because of the coaching situation. Josh Conklin and Renaldo Hill had in in home visit with Campbell earlier in the week. This appears to be coming down to Pitt and Rutgers and I like Pitt’s chances.

Juwann Winfree (Coffeyville, Kansas), WR- The former Maryland WR would have a chance to contribute next season and that’s why I’m very confident he’ll select Pitt (possibly this weekend). Could become Pitt’s #1 receiver next year.

Justin Morgan (Brooklyn, NY), OL- Despite being committed to Rutgers, this will be the second time that Morgan has visited Pitt. I think Pitt will eventually get him to flip.
