Pitt FB Recruiting

Sunday’s Pitt Notebook

Here’s news and notes that I’ve gathered today:

*4-star DE Quayshon Alexander just texted me as he’s wrapping up his weekend at Pitt. Alexander told me, “Things went really well this weekend. I was very impressed with the coaching staff and the schools hospitality. The institution as a whole is very impressive. They are someone I’ll consider moving forward.”

UPDATE (10:47 AM)-

**WR Juwann Winfree just got back to me and told me, “No, I’m not committing today. I’ll commit someplace in January.”

UPDATE (11:02 AM)-

**Fla CB Henry Miller is finishing up his official visit and DM’d me. Told me that while he’s not going to commit today, he was impressed with Pitt. Asked him to tell me something that stood out about Pittsburgh, he said, “how big the city of Pittsburgh is.” He also said that he was impressed with family atmosphere and “how everyone got along.”

Thought Miller might commit today but I still think Pitt’s in good shape for him .

UPDATE (3:39 PM)-

**Pitt picked up a commitment from New Jersey safety Phil Campbell. A pretty talented New Jersey player is noticing what Pitt is doing in New Jersey (Campbell and WR Maurice Ffrench).

Here’s  what 2017 DT Fred Hansard (#1 prospect in New Jersey for 2017 ) tweeted after  Campbell committed to Pitt.

Pitt really doing big things !!!

UPDATE (4:13 PM)-

**Looks like Miles Sanders is going to stick with his commitment to Penn State.  Brad Everett of the Post-Gazette talked to Sanders and just tweeted this out:

Woodland Hills’ Miles Sanders says he will be taking no other visits: “I’m sticking with Penn State.” Pitt’s OC leaving “made choice easier”

As I wrote yesterday,  Sanders was a big fan of former Pitt OC Jim Chaney.  His departure ruined an chance of Pitt getting him to flip.  Pitt will try real hard to land NC RB Robert Washington.

**Will have plenty of updates today.
