Could Pitt be getting another former Rutgers recruit?

We’ll find out the answer to that soon but yes there’s a chance.

Elias Reynolds (6-2, 227) is an outside linebacker from Brooklyn, New York and was originally committed to Rutgers.

Like a few others, Reynolds de-committed from the Scarlet Knights after Kyle Flood was fired as head coach.

“Rutgers is a great place and I’m not taking anything away from them but at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you” said Reynolds.

Tonight I talked to Reynolds about where his recruiting stands now and is Pitt an option.

“I’ve taken official to Illinois and I’m looking to take an official to Pitt and Rutgers sometime in January”, said Reynolds.

Reynolds holds offers from Pitt, Rutgers, Maryland, Illinois, Syracuse and Wake Forest.

“As of now, I don’t  have a top school in my list”, said Reynolds.

“I’m interested in Pitt and where the program is going. The coaches have done a good job considering this is their first year. I like the fact that they have a connection with the Pittsburgh Steelers and I like their fan base as well.”

Reynolds told me that his plan right now is to make his decision near Signing Day but that could change.

Here are some highlights of Reynolds.
