Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed that a big-time recruit has decided to make an official visit to Pitt.

4-star athlete Jonah Morris tells me that he will make a visit to Pittsburgh in the near future.

Morris (6-4, 190) is a talented athlete from Akron, Ohio. He’s a kid capable of playing either wide receiver, linebacker or safety in college.

Morris originally committed to Michigan State but backed out of that commitment. He plans on making a visit to Notre Dame on January 22.

Morris didn’t give me a specific date for his official visit.

UPDATE (5:27 PM)-

**Tyjuan Garbutt is one of the best players in the entire country for 2017.  Rivals has Garbutt ranked as the #6 DE next year and overall the 190th ranked player.

Interestingy, Garbutt has had interest in Pitt dating back to last year. This afternoon, Garbutt tweeted this:

“Pitt on the rise FrFr”

I then talked to Garbutt about where Pitt stands with him.

He said, “Coach Powell has checked in on me a couple times. I’m just noticed all types of talent that has committed to Pitt lately.”

I asked him does this wave of talent coming into Pitt make him look at Pitt more seriously?

“Yes, I like that this coaching staff is recruiting all this talent”, said Garbutt.

Keep a eye on this top defensive end from Virginia.

SUNDAY (3:17 PM)-

**As I’ve said before, the scholarships that Pitt offers kids do have an experation date.

I found out today that Pitt and Philadelphia DE Andre  Mintze have “moved on.” I’d have to imagine with the defensive ends that have already committed, Pitt moved on from Mintze.

**Check back today for more updates.   I’m working on a few leads.
