It’s the time of the year that recruiting rumors are going to be flying and many of them won’t be true.

Example #1: Central Catholic defensive tackle  and 2016 Pitt recruit Rashad Wheeler plans on de-committing from Pitt and will flip to Penn State.

This speculation started to surface this afternoon after 4-star DL Karamo Dioubate backed out of his commitment to the Nittany Lions.

Within the hour, I reached out to Wheeler to get this reaction to all of this talk.

“I’ve just been getting a lot of texts and hearing that people are worried that I’m interested in Penn State because of the recent decommit”, said Wheeler.

“I’ve been getting texts asking me if I have recently been talking to any Penn State caoches or if I’m still interested. I am not interested in going anywhere other than Pitt.  I am 100% committed and nothing has changed”, said Wheeler.

Before committing to Pitt back in August, Wheeler (6-3, 270)  held offers from Penn State, Tennessee,  Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
