Pitt 2017 Recruiting News

The Pitt football coaching staff is working on 2 things right now: 1) closing out their 2016 recruiting class 2) getting ready to start actively recurring the Class of 2017.

Right now, Pitt has offered approximately 62 kids already and two players have committed: 4-star S Paris Ford and 3-star CB Exree Loe (Johnstown).

**The latest kid to receive an offer is OT Aaron Banks. Banks is a big kid and a big prospect. The 4-star lineman is already 6-7, 305 lbs. and is rated as one of the top 100 players in the country.

The interesting thing about Pitt’s offer is that Banks is from El Cerrito, California. Pitt doesn’t recruit that many kids from California. Right now, Banks has offers from USC, UCLA, Arizona State, California and Wisconsin.

**Last night I found out about a 2017 prospect that Pitt has interest in but hasn’t offered (yet ).

His name is Terrell Alexander, a Defensive tackle from the Bronx, NY. Alexander (6-2, 260) plays for Cardinal Hayes High School.

I talked to Alexander last night and he told me that Pitt coaches plan on visiting his school next week.

“I would love to be a part of their program. It would be a dream come true to receive an offer from them.”

So when we start focusing on the Class of 2017, keep an eye on Terrell Alexander.

**Yesterday I told you a couple places that Pitt coaches would be on Thursday when the dead period ends, here’s something else. I’m told that LB coach Rob Harley will be spending the day in Maryland and Virginia. Working on finding out who the ace recruiter will be seeing.
