Saturday Pitt/WPIAL Recruiting

Probably the most asked question I receive is: “What’s going on with those 2 silent commitments you wrote about?”

Here’s an update: I talked to the one of them earlier in the week and he continues to say he’s committing to Pitt. Honestly, I don’t know why it hasn’t been announced yet. My guess would be Pitt’s current issue with available scholarships. I’m still expecting this kid to be a Pitt Panther.

As far as the second recruit, I’m starting to have some doubt. I KNOW that the recruit WANTS to commit, but does Pitt have room for him? I’m told by someone close to this situatio that if the numbers work for Pitt, they will take him. This could all depend on whether guys like Amir Watts, Elias Reynolds and Quayshon Alexander commit to Pitt. Stay tuned.

**I’ll update this today as information comes in****

Pregame: Bryce Hargrove, Ruben Flowers and Therran Coleman.

UPDATE (4:12 PM)-
**Adam Gorney from Rivals.com was first to report that Pitt has offered talented DE Keanu Saleapaga. The 3-star player is from La Mirada, California. He has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State and USC. Saleapaga actually recently de-committed from USC, thus the late interest from Pitt. I’ll attempt to contact Saleapaga.

“It’s gone great. Ive gotten to meet other recruits and some guys on the team. I talked to Coach Narduzzi some more and met with the new OC Coach Canada. We’re going to be in touch very soon, so I guess we’ll see”, said Ingram.

I asked Ingram if Pitt’s talking to him about giving him a scholarship or are they looking at him as a preferred walk-on?

“I’m not exactly sure yet”, said Ingram. “I’m going to talk to Coach Narduzzi about that very soon. We’re also trying to figure out what position I’d be best at.”

Ingram told me that Pitt is thinking about him as a safety, outside linebacker or quarterback.
