The Pitt coaching staff were just successful in landing 4 recruits from the state of Florida and will continue to make “The Sunshine State” a priority in 2017.
Tonight Pitt offered West Palm Beach, Fla. linebacker Raven Saunders.
“I talked to Coach Salem and he talked to me about how he liked me on both sides of the ball. He also talked to me about how he thinks I can play any position on the field”, said Saunders.
“Coach Salem told me that he really likes my film a lot and told me that I had on offer from Pitt and to keep doing what I’m doing.”

“I’ve never been to Pittsburgh but I heard a lot of great things about it from former graduates”, said Saunders. “I’d like to make a visit to Pittsburgh sometime this summer.”
The Florida linebacker/running back holds offers from North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida Atlantic.
I talked to Saunders about the fact that Pitt just got commitments from 4 Florida players (Henry Miller, Keyshon Camp, Rashad Weaver and Zack Williams) and he said it’s something he noticed.
“I did notice and I find that very important how many players are from Florida that’s on Pitt’s roster.”
Scouts say that Saunders strength is his size (6-1, 215) and speed. As a linebacker he’s explosive and is very physical.
The 2016 recruiting season is over and time for 2017 to begin. Saunders is looking forward to what the next year brings.
“It’s a very exciting process and I’m so glad to have this opportunity”, said Saunders. “I’m expecting this whole process to be very stressful.”
