Coming off a recruiting class where they successfully recruited numerous defensive backs, Pitt is looking to sign more.
Tariq Castro-Fields (6-2, 178) a cornerback from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, picked up an offer from Pitt this week. Aside from Pitt, Castro-Fields has offers from Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers and Mrashall.
“I talked to Coach Powell and he wants me to get up there and see the school and things like that”, said Castro-Fields. “I’m excited to get the recruiting process started. I know if I just work hard everything will fall in place for me.”
“I don’t know too much about Pittsburgh but I know it’s big on the Steelers meaning it’s big on football.”
Castro-Fields is a big cornerback and he tells me that his work ethic is on or his strengths. “I’m very competitive also so that helps me thrive when going against the best of the best. They say I’m a long, lengthy corner who can run with the best of them and I’m a physical corner.”
Castro-Fields tells me that he doesn’t have any upcoming video planned but that he’ll be talking to his coach and his family about it.
“I feel very fortunate to be in this position and something I don’t take for granted at all. I’m very blessed to be in the position I’m in.”
Castro-Fields is the 10th cornerback that Pitt has offered: Lamont Fields, William Poole, Shaun Wade, Deon Jones, Ambry Thomas, Jonathan Sutherland, Jaytlin Askew, Jacobe Clement, Exree Loe.
