Good and bad news when you look at Pitt’s remaining schedule in the month of February.
Bad news first- it’s really difficult, only one of the six games would be considered “easy” (Wake Forest).
Now the good news- If the Panthers could go on a winning streak, they’d really improve their seeding and outlook for March.
Next 6 opponents: Miami (RPI 14), North Carolina (RPI 9), Wake Forest, Syracuse (RPI 44), Louisville (RPI 21) and Duke (RPI 25).
In the daily RPI rankings released this morning, Pitt is tied with Florida State at #38. So that means, at least according to the RPI rankings, Jamie Dixon and Pitt would be in the range of a 9th or 10th seed. Obviously a bad February and Pitt could put themselves on the bubble for an appearance in the NCAA basketball Tournament.
