CB Amir Riep Talks Pitt

Pitt had a successful year recruiting in the state of Ohio and now they’re going after one of its top players in the Class of 2017.

4-star cornerback Amir Riep is rated as one of the top 10 players in Ohio and ranked by Rivals as one of the top 200 players in the entire country.

The Cincinnati cornerback has offers from nearly every major program in the country (Florida, Iowa, Miami Fla, Michigan St, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, West Virginia and Virginia Tech).

On Monday, Pitt officially offered Riep and this afternoon I caught up with him to talk Pitt and his future.

“Pitt is a great offer, all offers are.  Considering that I don’t have  a university that I’m 100% sure of attending, every offer will be looked into”,  said Riep. “My family and coaches will help me choose the school that best fits me and will help me live out my dream.”

Despite Riep saying that he doesn’t have any favorites that hasn’t stopped some to write that he’s a heavy lean towards Ohio State or Michigan.

“I’ve read those predictions and don’t know where they came from.  I will be enrolling early so it’s nice that Pitt came in early so I can take a look into them before football starts because my decision will be before the season.  I’m doing that because I don’t want to cause any distractions  to my team and what we have going on for the season.”
