Stallings Hire Jeremy Ballard

Published

on

It looks as though Pitt basketball coach Kevin Stallings has added an assistant to his staff.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.com was first to report that Stallings has hired Illinois State assistant coach Jeremy Ballard.

Ballard has been an assistant coach for the past 11 seasons.  Last season, he spent at Illinois State.  Prior to that, Ballard was with Shaka Smart at VCU for 3 seasons (2012-15) and before that, he was an assistant with Tulsa for five seasons (2007-12).

Prior to his time with the Tulsa, Ballard was an assistant at Mercer and Colgate (his alma mater).

Following his hiring, multiple outlets reported that Stallings was bringing Tom Richardson, his former assistant at Vanderbilt with him.

To this point, Pitt has not made any of these hirings official.
