Pitt Offers 2 More Prospects

Published

Last night, the Pitt coaches made offers to two different type of prospects:  a player that has a lot of offers and one that they hope they’re getting in early on.

CBaltimore (Md.) Boys Latin School defensive end Victor Dimukeje (6-2,  245) has already been on Pitt’s campus, in fact he was in attendence for Pitt’s Junior Day.  Last night, the Pitt coaches decided it was time to offer Jim.

“I was honored by the Pitt offer. Coach Powell told me about it by saying that he would love for me to be a part of the Pitt program.  I’ve been talking to Pitt like once a week since I visited their Junior Day”, said Dimukeje.

Including Pitt, Dimukeje also has offers from Duke, Harvard, Iowa State, Maryland, West Virginia and Rutgers.

“I’m Nigerian and just started playing football in the 8th grade. My recruiting has been going great and I have a great opportunity to chose from some great programs and schools”, Dimukeje.

“I try to be better than the guy next to me.  I think my biggest strength is my mindset to get better and better and to achieve all of my goals.”

Dimukeje tells me that he might try and set up a visit to Pitt soon.

Offer #2 of the night went to Nazihar (Naz) Bohannon from Lorain, Ohio (Lorain H.S.).  Bohannon (6-5, 205)  is a 2 sport (basketball) star for Lorain High School and got the news from Pitt assistant Tim Salem.

“When he told me I had a scholarship to Pitt, I was kind of in awe and took a little while to respond”, said Bohannon. “This came as a surprise because I haven’t talked to Pitt a lot.”

“I then talked to Coach Salem and he asked me a series of questions about how I play the game and the positions that I like to play.  Then he said if my answer was yes to all the questions he asked then I had a scholarship to Pitt”, said Bohannon.

Pitt is the second Power 5 school (Iowa State) to offer Bohannon, who also has a basketball scholarship offer from Kent State too.

Bohannon tells me that “chances are high” for him to make a visit to Pitt soon because he’s never been to Pittsburgh and that he’d “love to see the campus.”
