The battle for a future WPIAL star could very well come down to an old time battle between Pitt, Penn State and West Virginia.

Kwantel Raines (6-3, 195) is a sophomore defensive back for Aliquippa and has star written all over him.  The 2018 prospect has 3 offers : West Virginia, Penn State and now Pitt after Pat Narduzzi offered him last night.

“Coach Narduzzi told me I had an offer”, said Raines. “I was excited. Me, my dad, my brother and Kaezon Pugh were together and we were all excited.  As soon as I tweeted it, all my friends started blowing up my phone.”

Like most recruits, Raines is a big fan of Pat Narduzzi and the direction of the Pitt program.

“Narduzzi is a great coach with big plans and yes I can see myself playing for him”, said Raines.

Considering he’s only a sophomore, the national recruitment of Raines really hasn’t started yet.   For that reason, he hasn’t even thought of giving anyone a commitment.
