Ellison Looking For Pitt Offer

Last weekend Rivals hosted a camp in Columbus for all the big recruits on the East coast and the Midwest.   Morgan Ellison was named the MVP of all the running backs and tomorrow Ellison will be coming to Pittsburgh for the spring game.

This afternoon, Pittsburgh Sports Now had a chance to talk with Ellison about the visit to Pitt and his future.

“Well I’m coming to Pitt this weekend because Coach Peterson reached out to me about coming and I thought it would be a pretty good experience”, said Ellison.

“I’ve talked to both Coach Peterson and Coach Salem.  We talked about a month ago once but over the past couple of weeks we’ve been talking a lot.”

Ellison (6-1, 208) is from Pickerington, Ohio and believe it or not is still looking for his first offer.

“Coaches haven’t seen much of my film because I’ve been hurt”, said Ellison. “I was pretty excited to win the RB MVP.  I’ve been working my tail off.  I think with me getting the MVP at the past 3 camps I’ve gone to this year, I’m catching the eye of a lot of coaches and it’s helping me make up for some lost time (injury).”

Since he’s abit of an unknown, I asked Ellison about his running style and the type of back he is.

“I think my running style is balanced and that’s what gives me an extra push as opposed to being just a speed or power back. I think my biggest strength is that I can run through you or around you.  If I’d compare my game to someone it would be LeVeon Bell because he does not run a 4.4 but has good quick cuts like me”, said Ellison.

As I mentioned, Ellison is looking for his first offer but is hearing from schools like Toledo, Iowa State, Syracuse, Purdue, Ohio State and Michigan.

“I really don’t know too much about Pitt but I would like to find out some things this weekend and start to form a relationship with some coaches”, said Ellison.

So does Ellison think an offer could come this weekend from Pitt?

“I don’t really know if an offer will come.  A lot of schools tell me they are really close but I don’t know.  It would mean a lot to me though.  I will always remember my first.”
