News and notes that I get from the Pitt Spring game and other Pitt recruiting notes throughout the day.

**Michigan 2018 safety Reggie Pearson is on his way to the Pitt Spring game and I talked to him for a few minutes.

Pearson tells me a big reason he’s making the visit is his relationship with Pat Narduzzi and DB coach Renaldo Hill.   “I think Coach Narduzzi is the greatest defensive mind in college football today.  I also love the way he interacts with players and and makes them feel comfortable”, said Pearson.   “Plus my good brother Avonte Maddox, lets me know a lot about how he really is.”

The sophomore safety already has offers from Syracuse, Iowa State, Bowling Green, Toledo, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Akron.  He also tells me that he’s in constant contact with UCLA, Michigan, Iowa and Northwestern.

“I’ve only been to Pittsburgh once before and had a great time”, said Pearson. “I’m very excited about the game, seeing my big brother play and just being in the presence of something great.”

UPDATE (5:04 PM)-
**Pitt received a verbal commitment today from 3-star linebacker Kyle Nunn of Findlay, Ohio.  After interviewing Nunn last night, I hinted in the story that I wrote, that he was a possibility to commit today.  Nunn received the offer last night from head coach Pat Narduzzi and didn’t waste much time accepting it.  Nunn (6-3, 205) plays safety in high school but Pitt is recruiting him as an outside linebacker.

UPDATE (5:12 PM)-
**Delaware DT Zeb Wright had a great time on his visit today.  “Pitt was great , and I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches when they come visit me in Delaware next month.”

Wright tells me that Pitt DL coach Tom Sims is recruiting him and told him that “they’ll talk” when he goes to see Wright in person next month.  “Hopefully that is the offer”, said Wright.

UPDATE (5:20 PM)-
**Quentin Lake, son of former Steeler great Carnell Lake, made the trip across country from California to Pittsburgh and it was worth it.  Lake just informed me that Pat Narduzzi offered him a scholarship today.

Lake tells me,  “Very humbled to receive an opportunity to play in the same city as I was born.”  Lake is a 3-star CB and is a play maker in the secondary.

Any chance of a quick commitment?

“No, I’m not making any sport of commitment soon because it’s a long process and I have to make sure the school I want to go to fits me right”, said Lake.
