Beaver Fall’s Donovan Jeter is a player that Pitt fans love to talk about and always want recruiting information about.

Who’s Donovan Jeter going to commit to? Is Pitt the leader? Does he have a Top 2?  I get those questions all the time.

Since Jeter attended Pitt’s Blue/Gold scrimmage yesterday, I figured it was time to get on update on the 4-star defensive tackle.

First off, I asked Jeter about the scrimmage.

“I actually enjoyed the time before the game with the coaches and players but the game was good”, said Jeter.  There’s a lot of good things in the near future for Pitt.”

Like many recruits, Jeter is a big fan of Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi. Since taking over at Pitt, Narduzzi has spent much time recruiting Jeter and has made him a priority recruit.   With his size and talent, Jeter is a player that could thrive in a Pat Narduzzi defensive scheme.

“Me and coach have a great relationship because for one, he’s a very intense guy and also he’s a defensive guy, LOL, which is good for me.  But he’s just a great guy”, said Jeter.

The close relationship between the two has led many to believe that Pitt is the leader for Jeter.  Fans from Pitt and other schools constantly tweet Jeter with questions and comments, which can be difficult for a 17 year old kid.   The recruiting process for a high profile player isn’t as fun and glamorous as most think.

“It’s kind of wearing me down but I’ve just been kinda putting it out the side and just been focusing on getting better everyday at my craft”, said Jeter.

I then asked Jeter without telling me who, do you have an idea of who you’re going to pick? If so, is there something you’re waiting for to decide?

“I think I know where I’m going but I’m still considering other schools.”

Jeter has offers from nearly every major program in the country but back in December, he named a Top 8 of UCLA, Pitt, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Michigan State and Tennessee.

While he tries to figure out who he’s going to select, Jeter has been training extremely hard, losing weight and adding muscle.

“I’ve been training with Terry Grossetti”, said Jeter. “He’s taking my strength and my athleticism to another level.  I’ve made nothing but gains working out with him.  He gave me this diet to follow and it’s dropped a lot of my stomach fat which is causing me to lose weight.”

Jeter is a recruit that no doubt, will have an impact as a freshman.  The only questions now are for who and when will he decide?

“I’m not sure yet when I wanna commit.”

When Jeter does decide, he’s going to make one head coach a very happy guy .
