Monday Pitt Recruiting News

Now that spring practice is over with, the Pitt football coaches will be in full blown recruiting mode.  Today we’re working to find out new offers and also contacting recruits that visited this past weekend.

**Gonzaga HS (Washington DC) 3-star center Johnny Jordan received an offer from the Panthers today.   Jordan (6-3, 290) is DC’s No. 4 ranked player in 2017 and has offers from Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia.

**Pitt offered another offensive lineman and this one is a big time prospect.  Jackson Carman (Fairfield, Ohio) is a 4-star lineman in the Class of 2018.  Carman told me that he actually got the offer from Pitt months ago but just announced them and others now.   Carman is only a sophomore but is already a national recruit with offers from Alabama, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.   I’ll have an interview with Carman later tonight.

**Pitt lost out on another quarterback in 2017 that they recently offered.  4-star quarterback Lindell Stone decided to stay home and gave a verbal commitment this afternoon to Virginia.  Matt Canada and Pitt offered Stone a scholarship on March 31.

Hendon Hooker (Virginia Tech) and Matt McKay (NC State), two players with Pitt offered also made verbal commitments within the past month.

The lone uncommitted 2017 quarterback with an offer from Pitt is Kingsley Ifedi from Charlotte, North Carolina.
