The Pitt football program continues to try and lure top talent from the talent rich state of Florida. Bruce Judson, Tyler Dunning and now Guy Thomas.
Thomas (6-3, 191) is a 4-star defensive end from Washington High School in Miami, Florida and has an impressive offer list of Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan and Nebraska.
Rivals rates Thomas as the 13th best defensive end in the country and one of the top 250 players in the country.
Pat Narduzzi and his staff are ready to battle for this big-time talent.
“I was surprised and thankful that they wanted me, it’s another blessing to me”, said Thomas. “I haven’t been talking to Pitt so the offer was a surprise.”
Thomas will start doing some research on Pitt, “I’m going to learn about the great players that Pitt has produced and the great history of the football program.”
Thomas told me that he’s definitely going to consider Pitt. “I’m very interested in Pitt so (despite offering later) they’re not behind at all.”
Prior to the Pitt offer, Thomas tells me that the five schools that interest him most right now (not in order) are Nebraska, Louisville, Georgia, LSU and Colorado.
“I’m going to look for a program that will help me in the long run and a school that I’m going to have a good relationship with the coaches.”
Time will tell if that school will be Pitt.
