It was a busy day for the Pitt coaches as they offered and visited quite a few big-time players. Once again, Pat Narduzzi is showing that he’s not afraid to compete for the elite recruits.

Here’s what we’ve gathered today:
**Pitt coaches paid a visit to New Jersey 4-star defensive tackle Fred Hansard.  In the last couple of days, Hansard has also been visited by Tennessee and will make a visit to Rutgers this weekend.  A few weeks ago, Hansard said that he’d make his college decision on May 13 but has since canceled that date because he wants to make sure he’s 100% sure about his choice.

**Yesterday, a Pitt coach was in Ohio visiting Fairfield HS cornerback Josiah Scott.  To this point, Pitt hasn’t offered Scott (5-10, 165) but he’s a name to remember.  While at Fairfield HS, Pitt also checked in on Scott’s teammate, Malik Vann, who’s a big-time player for next year.  Vann is a 6-3, 245 defensive end who has offers already from Pitt, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.

**Clearwater (Florida) 4-star athlete CJ Cotman received an offer tonight from Pitt.  Cotman (5-10, 175) is a star running back/cornerback for his team and has offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fl), Mississippi, Ohio State, Oregon and TCU.  I’ll have an interview with Cotman posted later tonight.

**Pitt is searching the entire country for talent. Evidence of that is that they made offers to a couple of 5-star wide receivers from Los Angeles.  Teammates 2017 WR Joseph Lewis and 2018 WR Jalen Hall picked up offers from the Panthers.

Lewis is a 6-2, 197 wideout with offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A& M, UCLA and USC.

We’ll have an interview with Lewis later tonight.

Jalen Hall (6-3, 182) is a 2018 receiver with the same offers as his teammate (Lewis).

**Pitt also offered a scholarship to a JUCO player.  Andrew Van Ginkel (6-4, 200) is a defensive end for Iowa Western C.C.   I’m trying to gather more information on Van Ginkel.

**IF MORE NEWS COMES OUT TONIGHT, I’LL UPDATE THIS PAGE.

UPDATE (8:36 PM)
**Florida 4-star athlete and Pitt target Bruce Judson picked up an offer today from Miami (Fla.) and also will visit Michigan State this weekend.

**Pitt offensive line coach John Peterson paid a visit today to Ohio offensive tackle Matt Sichterman, a player that’s held a Pitt offer for a while. Sichterman (6-5, 266) has offers from Nebraska, Duke, Northwestern, Maryland, Harvard, Yale, West Virginia, Virginia, Rutgers, etc.

Minutes ago, I talked briefly with Sichterman.  “I just got offers from Duke and Northwestern recently.  Pitt’s still up there for me.  I’ll probably get up there for another visit sometime this summer.  Coach Peterson just loved my work ethic and how I’m looking right now in terms of size.”

UPDATE (9:26PM)
**As I mentioned earlier, Pitt offered 4-star athlete C.J. Cotman (Clearwater, Florida) today, I just spoke with Cotman about the offer.

” Coach Rob Harley talked with me and made the offer.  He said they liked my highlight tape and my speed”, said Cotman.

Cotman is listed as an athlete because he has the ability to play either running back or cornerback.  Pitt told him, “They like me anywhere on the field. I feel that my best position is cornerback”, said Cotman.

Aside from Pitt, Cotman also received an offer from Alabama today so obviously he’s a national recruit.  What factors will he use in making a decision on his eventual school?

“Factors that I will be using is playing time, coaches that care about me and not just what I can do on the field.  “All schools are at the same level as of now and Yes, I plan on visiting Pitt over the summer.”
