Obviously, Ruckert is a multi-talented player. What would he consider his strength of his game?
“My ball skills are my top skill. Whenever the ball is in the air I don’t care who or what is in my way I’m going up to get it”, said Ruckert.

I asked Ruckert about getting the offer from Pitt this morning.
” Well I was on the phone with tight ends coach Tim Salem, who is a very cool guy and who’s into his job.”, said Ruckert. “We started off with a conversation and then we got into it about if I can do everything he needs me to do as a tight end. I said I definitely can to every question he asked and then he said that if you’re telling me you can do all of that then you have an offer to play in the ACC with the Pitt Panthers.”
” I spoke to Coach Salem a couple times prior and he’s been in touch with Coach Lombardo for a while. But as far as what I’ve heard or know about Pitt, I’m very impressed with the Pitt fan base and the college community.”
Despite being in the Class of 2018, Ruckert already has offers from Pitt, Boston College, Syracuse and is getting interest from Michigan, Rutgers, Maryland, Wake Forest, UConn, Penn State, Temple, Duke, Stony Brook, Fordham, Penn, Colgate, and Marist.
“I definitely want to ride this recruiting process out and see what happens. As of know, I don’t have my sights set on one particular school and I want to keep all of my options open because you never know if a coaching staff will be there come 2018. So I definitely want to take my time and enjoy this process because it only happens once”, said Ruckert.
Is a visit to Pitt in Ruckert’s future?
“I’ve never been to Pitt and I definitely in the future would like to take a trip there and see what it’s like up there. H2P.”
