Cornerback Harrison Hand had a pretty good Sunday. First, he attended “The Opening Regional” in New Jersey sponsored by Nike and won the Defensive Back MVP. Following that award, Hand found out that Pitt offered him a scholarship.
“I was very proud of myself and excited when I got both the MVP award and the offer from Pitt because it shows that all my hard work is paying off”, said Hand.

Hand (5-11, 178) is a 3-star cornerback from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and prior to the Pitt offer, had offers from Syracuse, Rutgers and Temple.

Hand tells me that Pitt defensive coordinator Josh Conklin offered him the scholarship. Coincidence or not, he was offered from Pitt right after his impressive camp.
“We just talked about how important it was for me to get up there (Pitt’s campus) and visit and to see what the city of Pittsburgh is like”, said Hand. “I don’t know a lot about Pitt except that they have a great football program.”
“If I had to describe my style of play, I’d say I’m fast, aggressive, love to compete and even more than that I love to win…..When the ball is in the air, I’m going to get it.”
Being from New Jersey, Hand is considered a Rutgers lean but this offer tonight might give him something to think about. We’ll keep you posted.
