The theme of the week for Pitt recruiting this week was Offering Quarterbacks. In total, the Pitt coaching staff offered 5 quarterback prospects last week.
It’s becoming apparent that Pitt would like to get a quarterback signed relatively soon and have targeted a number of players.
Charlotte QB Kingsley Ifedi (6-3, 215) is someone that’s had an offer for awhile and even visited but isn’t ready to make a decision so Pitt has added more names to their target list.
**4-star Mac Jones (6-3, 181) from Jacksonville, Florida and a Kentucky commitment was offered. Jones was offered by a bunch of other schools too this week and would appear to be a long shot.
**4-star Tate Martell (5-11, 203) from Las Vegas, Nevada is the #1 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country. Martell is back on the market after de-committing from Texas A&M. Like Jones, Martell isn’t a likely possibility.
**3-star Darriel Mack (6-3, 215) is a dual threat prospect from Norfolk, Virginia. Mack also holds offers from Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
**3-star Kenny Pickett (6-3, 191) is also a dual threat quarterback from Oakhurst, New Jersey. Pickett is currently committed to Temple but told me that while still committed to them, he’s keeping all of his options open.
**2018 4-star Artur Sitkowski from Old Bridge, New Jersey was offered by OC Matt Canada. Sitkowski (6-5, 205) is a highly rated classic Pro-Style quarterback with offers from Boston College, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Rutgers, South Carolina and Temple.
**A few others players that received offers from Pitt were: 2017 OT Connor Robbins (Florida), 2018 OT Qadir White (New York), 2018 WR Shaquon Anderson-Butts (Harrisburg, PA), 2017 WR’s Dontavius Butler and Jordan Pouncey both from Florida.
**One offer to tell you about from the Pitt basketball program and that was to Washington DC forward Luka Garza (6-10, 230). Garza told me that he plans on visiting Pitt soon. If you missed it, check out the interview we did with Garza from last night.
