Some interesting developments today in regards to Pitt recruiting, in particular some that were made.

**Pitt offered a big defensive line prospect from the other side of the state.  Des Holmes (6-4, 293) from Cardinal O’Hara HS picked up a Pitt offer.  Holmes is not a heavily recruited player, with his biggest offers coming from Maryland, Syracuse, Temple and Central Florida.

**Pitt assistant Tim Salem’s recruiting today took him out to California and once again, Pitt offered a highly rated quarterback.  4-star recruit Tyler Lytle from Anaheim got an offer today.  Lytle is a 2017 recruit and his biggest offers are from Miami, California, Colorado, Illinois, Purdue, Oregon State and Arizona State.  Lytle is a big quarterback (6-5, 205) who missed a good portion of last season with a hamstring injury.  In a recent interview, Lytle said that he’d like to make a decision in June.

Lytle is another 2017 quarterback that Pitt has offered recently.  I’m hoping to interview Lytle later tonight.

**While in California, although I haven’t confirmed this yet, I believe that Salem also checked in on 4-star WR Jalen Hall, 5-star WR Joseph Lewis and CB Quentin Lake, all of whom hold Pitt offers.
I’m also working on finding out the other players that Salem went to see.

**It was announced that the Pine-Richland  will open the upcoming season playing on ESPN.  Pine-Richland will play St. Edward High School (Lakewood, Ohio) on August 27th in Cleveland.  St.  Edward is a perennial Ohio football power and Pine-Richland features star quarterback Phil Jurkovec, who just committed to Notre Dame.

**Speaking of Pitt and quarterbacks, I traded messages tonight with Charlotte quarterback Kingsley Ifedi and asked him where things stood with him and Pitt.

” I’ve been in contact with them daily, definitely still loving Pitt! I’ll be deciding here in the next couple weeks, probably on June 11″, said Ifedi.

 UPDATE (9:49 PM)-
**Salem made another offer to California athlete and this is an interesting one.  Freshman De’Gabriel Floyd, who’s already 6-3, 218, picked up his first D-1 offer.  Floyd is from Los Angeles and is listed as an athlete.  Pat Narduzzi is taking the Pitt recruiting efforts to all over the country.  I’ll work to find out more on Floyd.
