The Spring recruiting period is over with so the Pitt coaching staff is back on the South Side. The week started for them with a recruit from the state of Kentucky coming for a visit.

Jake Paulson (6-5, 245) is a 2017 tight end from Christian Academy in Louisville, Kentucky.  Paulson is one of many tight end prospects that has an offer from Pitt and yesterday he spent the day in Oakland.

“I really liked the Pitt coaches and the facilities.  Yesterday, we went on a tour of the campus, then checked out the facilities and met the with coaches”, said Paulson. “I talked with Coach Salem, Coach Narduzzi and the strength coach.  During our conversation, I asked them where they saw me as a tight end, a blocking tight end or someone who ran routes.  As far as the campus and the city of Pittsburgh, it’s unique how everything is right besides each other and how many bridges there are in Pittsburgh.”

When I asked Paulson about his timeline and could he see Pitt as a place that he could commit to?

“I’ll have to see, there’s a lot to think about.”

The big tight end did tell me that of the schools that have offered, Pitt is his #1 school.  He also said that he’s looking to see if Penn State is going to offer him.
