The Pitt football teams strong commitment to recruiting Florida this year could be close to paying dividends. A recruit from the Sunshine State tells me that Pitt is his leading school.
Dontavius Butler (Plantation, Florida) received an offer from the Panthers last week and since then he’s put them at the top of his recruiting board. Moments ago, I talked to Butler and asked him what he likes about Pitt and if a commitment could be close.

“Pitt is my leader because their program fits my playing style and gives me no doubt that I can do great things there like the legendary alumni, Larry Fitzgerald, Jon Baldwin, Antonio Bryant, Devin Street and Tyler Boyd!’, said Butler.
“Also, Coach Salem and I have a great relationship and we talk just about everyday and I also keep in contact with Coach Sherman a lot as well.”
“I plan on taking a visit June 7th to the Steel City! As of right now, I want to see how the visit goes, the environment at Pitt as well as the city before any commitment”, said Butler.
