Pitt Script Helmet #2

Are you ready for some Pitt recruiting news? I believe we’re 24 hours away from a couple Pitt commitments. The first Pitt football camp of the summer is tomorrow and Pittsburgh Sports Now will be there for anything that happens. We’ll also be there to provide you with workouts and interviews with recruits. Our equipment arrived yesterday, who we’re ready to provide you more extensive Pitt football coverage.

The equipment that we purchased wasn’t free and the site is free, so at anytime you’d want to help us offset our expenses, feel free to make a donation to the site. Trust me, between paying writers, site costs and equipment, I’m not making ANY money from the site, this is all a labor of love. The donation tab is at the top of the home page and anything would be appreciated. Now on to recruiting news.

**I’ve learned that Aliquippa 2018 star safety Kwantel Raines will be  at the Pitt football facility this weekend. The exact day will depend on when he finishes taking his SAT’s tomorrow morning.

Raines is a PRIORITY recruit for Pitt in 2018 and will be one of the most recruited players in Pennsylvania, if not the country. The 6-3 safety has already been offered by West Virginia, Penn State, Michigan State, NC State, Temple, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Iowa State.

UPDATE (2:43 PM)-
**Central Catholic 2018 quarterback Troy Fisher will be participating in the Pitt football camp tomorrow. I just interviewed Fisher and will have his story coming up soon.

UPDATE (4:11 PM)-
**I’m told by a good source that the Pitt coaches made an impression today with a REALLY good defensive player in Florida. DE Jacob Lichtenstein (6-5, 235) from Weston, Florida “has interest” in Pitt. I’m hoping to talk with him in a few minutes so check back.  Lichtenstein was just offered a scholarship from Alabama.

UPDATE (8:28 PM)-
**Couple of more visitors for tomorrow’s camp:  New York OG Kyle Nunez (6-3, 308) from Islip Terrace, New York. Nunez has visited Pitt a couple of times and has been in contact with the coaches.  He could be a candidate for an offer.

UPDATE (8:35 PM)-
**Another big offensive lineman that will be in town tomorrow is Evan Lovell (6-4, 318) an offensive guard from Thomaston, CT. Lovell is a 2018 prospect and tells me that he’s getting interest from Rutgers, Temple, UConn and Penn State.   He also says that he’s been in contact with Coach Salem, who encouraged him to travel to Pitt for the camp.
