I anticipate Pitt possibly getting a commitment this week. This weekend will be a big couple of days for recruits visiting the facility. I’ll have more on that as the week goes on.
**A player that I had projected committing to Pitt received a big offer yesterday. Offensive tackle Andrew Stueber from Darien, Connecticut, received an offer from Jim Harbaugh and Michigan.
Stueber is a player that has developed a solid relationship with Pitt and Coach Salem but how does this offer change things for him?
“Michigan has always been a school that I’ve had high interest in but I’m still considering all the schools that have offered me,” said Stueber.
Stueber now has offers from Pitt, Michigan, Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia.
**Another player that holds a Pitt offer and has Pitt high on his list received a big offer. Cornerback Quentin Lake, son of Steeler great Carnell Lake, received a scholarship offer from USC.
“I was very excited to get the USC offer but I’m still keeping all my options open,” said Lake. “I would love to go back to Pitt to really check out their facility, team and to see my dad. But I’m just very grateful to receive this scholarship from USC.”
Lake now holds offers from Pitt, USC, Oregon State, Navy and Hawaii.
UPDATE (1:34 PM)-
**Congrats to Central Catholic 2018 quarterback Troy Fisher who picked up an offer from Boston College. He also has an offer from Temple.
UPDATE (1:45 PM)-
**Another local recruit in the Class of 2018 received an offer and it’s a special one. Butler OL Jake Kradel (6-4, 265) received his first Power 5 offer and it came from Syracuse. Kradel received the offer while visiting Syracuse.
