Pat Narduzzi will be hosting many talented prospects this weekend, most of whom have offers from Pitt. However, Ohio 4-star athlete Jarell White confirmed to me this afternoon that he’ll be traveling to Pittsburgh this weekend, but doesn’t have an offer from the Panthers.
White (LaSalle High School, Cincinnati, Ohio) is a multi-talented player that plays both running back and defensive back. White (5-11, 200). Rivals rates White as one of the Top 25 athletes in the country. White has won back to back state titles at LaSalle and has been a 2,000 yard rusher each of the last 2 seasons.
I talked with White about this weekend and what he’s expecting from Pitt.
“Coming up to Pitt, I expect a lot. Me and the Pitt coaches pretty much have talked for a while. I’m just looking forward to the campus part,” said White.
“I talk to Coach Peterson and Coach Harley every now and then but Coach Peterson is my recruiting coach so I see him a lot.”
As of now, White doesn’t have an offer from Pitt but that’s likely to change. He does have offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky and Purdue.
White’s future position has been debated and reportedly a reason Pitt hasn’t offered yet. The coaching staff was trying to figure out where he’s best suited to play in college. White revealed to me that he’s just settled on a position.
“I’m getting recruited at safety or nickleback,” said White. “First it was RB but I decided I’m going to play defense on the next level.”
Yesterday, White tweeted out, “Where my Louisville, Pitt, Purdue fans at?? ????.” Is that White’s Top 3 or what was the meaning of the tweet?
“I never said those were my Top 3 schools. I was just seeing where are the fans because every other school who recruits me, the fans follow me. My top 3 will not be released no time soon!”
White has said he’s likely to make a final decision after his high school season.
