We are extremely excited to announce that Alan Saunders has joined our staff as a featured writer.
Born in Monroeville and raised in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, Alan attended Penn-Trafford High School before heading off to IUP, where he was a contributor to Hockey’s Future. After college, Alan started a sports equipment company, which he ran for 5 years.
Since then, he’s been a full-time writer.
Alan has covered the Penguins, Pitt, and Robert Morris, worked as an editor for Pittsburgh Sporting News and was the college coverage coordinator for DK Pittsburgh Sports. Besides being our newest featured columnist, you can find Alan working freelance for the Associated Press, Pirates Prospects and Beaver County Times.
Currently Alan lives in Irwin with his daughter, Alexandra, fiancee, Ryan, and dog, Bruce.
