As we come to the end of another week, everyone at Pittsburgh Sports Now want to wish you an enjoyable but safe holiday weekend. If you’re lucky enough to have a 3- day weekend, enjoy it!

(And don’t forget to like our Facebook page for a chance to win a Pittsburgh Sports Now t-shirt! Two winners will be announced tonight.)

**Continuing what we were doing yesterday, I’ll let you know if I hear back from potential Pitt targets. ICYMI, I contacted 30+ recruits and asked them to update me on where recruiting stands for them and if they plan on visiting Pitt after the end of the “Dead Period.”

Quentin Lake, cornerback, Santa Ana, California;

Over the last week, Lake received offers from USC and UCLA, two bit offers. The offer from UCLA is a special one to him because it’s the alma mater of his father, former Steeler great Carnell Lake.

“UCLA has definitely moved up there for me on the list but my options are still open,” said Lake. “My decision is not set but I’m planning to make a decision eventually. I haven’t had any plans to go back to Pitt but I’m really hoping I can change that. I also was hoping to maybe visit Colorado during our (Mater Dei) dead period to check out their organization.”

“PITT will always be up there for me because of their team and Coach Narduzzi has a record of putting defensive backs into the league,” said Lake.

UPDATE (3:31 PM)-

** Virginia DT Tyran Hunt announced a couple days ago that he’d be releasing his Top 8 soon.  Pitt has offered Hunt but I can confirm that the Panthers won’t be on his list.

UPDATE (3:35 PM)-

** 2018 QB Kevin Doyle offer list continues to grow as he received another impressive offer today. Doyle (Malvern, PA) picked up an offer from Big 10 power Michigan State. Keep in mind, Pitt was the first school to offer this talented quarterback almost 2 years ago. Doyle holds offers from Pitt, Boston College, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo and West Virginia.

** Aliquippa 2018 safety Kwantel Raines, who will be one of the top players in the state of Pennsylvania and the entire country, received a nice honor today. Raines was upgraded to a 4-star recruit by Scout.com. Raines arguably is Pitt’s top in-state target for next season.
