I’m going to be spending the weekend in Erie at the beach with the family but as a staff, we’ll update the notebook throughout the weekend. I haven’t had an electronics free (no phone / I-Pad) in many, many months so I promised my family I’d do it tomorrow. Joe and Alan will provide you with the latest info.

** Central Catholic 2017 OLB Tim Terry tells me that he visited Cincinnati today but they didn’t offer. Keep an eye on them to possibly do it in the future. Terry will visit West Virginia tomorrow.

** University Prep star linebacker Kenny Robinson announced his Final 5 on Twitter tonight. Robinson’s finalists are: Pitt, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Toledo.

I find it interesting that Robinson included Pitt. The reason I say that, is I wonder if Pitt has room to take Robinson at the linebacker position since they’ve already received commitments from 3 linebackers already.

Chris Anderson from 247 Sports says that Robinson will be in Morgantown this weekend visiting West Virginia.

UPDATE (9:40 PM)-

** Looks like another top local prospect will visit West Virginia tomorrow. Aliquippa 2018 4-star safety Kwantel Raines says that he’ll be in Morgantown. Raines is one of the top overall players in the country for 2018 and is probably Pitt’s top target for next season.

UPDATE (10:00 PM)-

** Jerry Meyers of 247 Sports is reporting that Kevin Stallings is personally scouting 4-star forward Jermaine Samuels tonight. Samuels is a 6-6 forward from Massachusetts and has offers from UConn, Indiana,  Villanova, Georgia Tech, and Marquette, among others.

UPDATE (11:32 PM)-

** Clairton star cornerback Lamont Wade was in Columbus tonight at Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights.

SATURDAY

Update (5:35 PM)-

** A day after visiting Ohio State, Clairton cornerback Lamont Wade is in Morgantown visiting West Virginia.

UPDATE (9:03 PM)-

** Fairfield, Ohio cornerback Josiah Scott plans on making one final visit before making his college decision next Sunday. I asked Scott if that visit would be to Pitt and he didn’t have a comment, only saying that he’s going to make the visit without telling anyone where it’s to.

** Speaking of cornerbacks, Pitt has offered a scholarship to one from the state of Georgia.  Skakur Brown is a 6’0 cornerback from Stockbridge, Georgia and has been offered by West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oregon State, Purdue, South Carolina and Colorado State.

UPDATE (9:29 PM)-

** Jim Ferry and Duquesne have offered a couple of prospects from the state of Florida. Shooting guard Jordan Wright (Fort Lauderdale) and  SG Brion Whitley (Sarasota) got offers tonight from Duquesne.

SUNDAY-

UPDATE (3:18 PM)-

** Per Verbalcommits.com, Kevin Stallings has offered a scholarship to 2017 power forward Brandon Huffman from Word of God Christian Academy (NC). Huffman (6-9, 230) has been offered by LSU, Texas A&M, Connecticut, Clemson, Georgia, USC, Rutgers, Baylor, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
