Let’s get right into the recruiting news of the day.

**Originally he was supposed to visit on Sunday, but I’m told that Harrisburg 2018 4-star wide receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts will visit Pitt today. Anderson-Butts was in Morgantown and is due to arrive in Pittsburgh around noon. This is definitely a player Kevin Sherman and Pat Narduzzi would love to land.

UPDATE (10:15 AM)-

** Yesterday, 4-star forward Naji Marshall included Pitt in his “Final 7 but I’m not optimistic about Pitt’s chances of landing him.  Things could change but I don’t think so in this case.

UPDATE (11:07 AM)-

** Today the ACC announced that Dorian Johnson and Ejuan Price were named to the 2016 All-ACC Preseason Football Team. Johnson received the most votes for ACC guards (107 votes) while Price received 102 votes for defensive ends (2nd most).

Offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty and safety Jordan Whitehead barley missed making the preseason team, finishing 3rd at their respective positions.

UPDATE (12:24 PM)-

** Got word of some interesting recruiting news regarding a rule change for August 1st that I’m sure Coach Narduzzi and his staff will be utilizing. Effective August 1st, coaches will be allowed to like, favorite and retweet recruits. This new rule has the potential to change the whole landscape of recruiting with social media.

I talked to a someone inside a Division-1 athletic department and this was his reaction to the new rule.

“By implementing this rule, it will change the way coaches use social media, and if a coaching staff is not on social media, it could put them at a slight disadvantage. Coaches with more followers and a bigger reach could open the eyes of recruits when they see just how many likes and retweets they get. It could also give the prospect a sense of just how seriously the coaches take them and where exactly they are on their board.”

UPDATE (2:45 PM) by Alan Saunders–

** Pitt target and four-star rated athlete Bruce Judson from Cocoa, Florida announced his commitment to South Florida along with two other players in a live event this afternoon.

Judson, who Pitt wanted as a running back, originally committed to Ohio State, then de-committed because head coach Urban Meyer couldn’t remember his name.
