We’ll run an updated recruiting notebook throughout the weekend.

UPDATE (11:46 AM)-
**Pitt hoops recruiting news – This doesn’t come as a surprise, but a player that Pitt recruited hard has committed elsewhere. 4-star forward Naji Marshall has given a verbal commitment to Xavier.

UPDATE (1:44 PM)-
** The Pitt football program will be getting a highly rated prospect to visit next week. Source tells me that New Jersey 2018 4-star receiver Justin Shorter will visit the campus this Tuesday.  Shorter (6-3, 195) is from Monmouth Junction, New Jersey and has a ton of offers.  Currently he’s been offered a scholarship from Miami (FL), Michigan, Mississppi, North Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Tennessee.

UPDATE (5:14 PM)-
** Kevin Stallings has offered another shooting guard this time from the state of South Carolina. 2017 SG Jordan Davis (6-4, 180) is a 3-star guard from Irmo, South Carolina and holds offers from Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and VCU.

** Congrats to Lincoln Park PG Nelly Cummings who picked up an offer today from Temple. Cummings is a big-time scorer and is one of the best players in Western Pennsylvania.

UPDATE (7:56  PM)-
** Kevin Stallings has made his second offer of the day, this one going to a highly ranked player. Tyler Polley (6’7″, 210) is  a 4-star forward from Weston, Florida and is ranked as one of the Top 100 players in the Class of 2017.

Pitt now joins an offer list of Dayton, Georgia Tech, LSU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.

UPDATE (9:49 PM)-
** I’m hearing  that there’s a chance that a player Pitt  is recruiting could make his decision on Monday and I believe he’ll pick Pitt. He told me that he’ll talk with his parents this weekend and  decide if Monday is the day. Stay tuned.

UPDATE (11:02 PM)-
** Philadelphia 3-star CB Kenny Bennett announced his Top 5 tonight and it included Pitt. Josh Conklin and Pitt were one of the first D-1 schools to offer Bennett, who named a Top 5 of Pitt, Virginia Tech, Temple, UMass and Maryland.

SATURDAY-

UPDATE (1:56 PM)-

** Two recruiting losses for Pitt today. One wasn’t a surprise, but the other was a tough loss for the program. Columbus 3-star DT Derrius Mullins verbaled to Indiana, this was expected.  Meanwhile, Washington DC 3-star OG Johnny Jordan gave a verbal to Maryland. This one hurts because Jordan is a talented lineman and I’m sure Pitt thought they had a chance.

UPDATE (2:05 PM)-

** Tomorrow, Ohio 3-star cornerback Josiah Scott will make his college decision and will pick between Pitt, Michigan State, West Virginia and Iowa.

My guess is that Scott will ultimatley decide between Pitt and Michigan State and I asked him that a few minutes ago.

“I’m not sure I want to release anything yet. I can tell you that the 2 teams I’m picking from it’s a hard decision. They’re neck and neck with each other because of what they can do to help me in the future,” said Scott.

UPDATE (6:07 PM)-
**Florida 2017 4-star center Victor Uyaelunmo just released his Top 8 and it included Kevin Stallings and Pitt. Uyaelunmo, who visited Pitt a month or so ago, has a Top 8 of Pitt, Florida, Miami (FL), USC, Tennessee, Illinois, Vanderbilt and UConn.  Uyaelunmo is one of the first players that Pitt’s new coaching staff offered and a priority recruit for them.

UPDATE (8:36 PM)-

**Pitt made the cut list of another top prospect and this is a big one. 4-star linebacker Drew Singleton from Newark, New Jersey put Pitt in his “Top 12. Joining Pitt are Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan, Clemson, California, Maryland, Rutgers and Penn State.
