Just had a few minutes to talk with New Jersey OT Carter Warren, who made his third visit to Pitt today. Warren is actually still in Pittsburgh tonight and will head back to Jersey tomorrow.
Warren told me that when he arrived in Pittsburgh it was raining and he went straight to the South Side to watch the first of Pitt’s two practices today. Actually that was one of the things that stood out most to him, “watching Coach Peterson work with the offensive lineman and to watch his coaching style. Plus, watching Coach Narduzzi run practice.”

Warren knows and felt that he’s an important recruit for Pitt and he liked that. “The coaching staff told me that they want me and need players like me,” said Warren.

Warren is a player that’s consistently been very guarded about who his leaders were and that stayed the same tonight. While admitting he had a great time today and that Pitt showed him a lot, he wouldn’t say if they were one of his top couple schools. However, he did tell me something new.
“I think I’m really close to cutting down my list and naming my finalists,” said Warren. I followed up by asking if he’d be dropping down to a final 2 or 3 teams, he didn’t want to commit to a number.
I have no facts to base this on but if I’m a betting man I’d say Pitt will make Warren’s final cut.
