Just days after receiving an offer from Pitt, Pine-Richland TE Grant Carrigan has given Pitt a verbal commitment. Carrigan is Pitt’s 13th commitment in the Class of 2017. Pittsburgh Sports Now was the first to break this story.

Carrigan is a big (6-7, 235), athletic player originally from Las Vegas, who moved to the area to attend Pine-Richland High School. He’ll team up with quarterback Phil Jurkovec this year to form one of the best QB-TE duos in Pennsylvania.

As we’ve been saying for awhile, tight end was a need position for Pitt and Carrigan is the first step in filling that need. I’m told that Pitt will be taking another tight end in this class.

I hope to talk to Carrigan shortly, so check back.
