Pitt Picked To Win Coastal Division

At least one national media member has high expectations for the Pitt Panthers this season. Long-time, respected college football writer Stewart Mandel from Fox Sports released his predictions for the ACC Conference today and he has Pitt winning the Coastal Division and playing Florida State in the ACC championship.

Mandel writes “Second-year coach Pat Narduzzi has the Panthers in position to surprise with a talented, aggressive defense and the return of RB James Conner.

According to Mandel, Pitt will finish 2016 with a record of 9-3 and 6-2 in conference, but will lose to Florida State in the ACC championship game.

Mandel’s Coastal Prediction:

  1. Pitt
  2. North Carolina
  3. Miami
  4. Georgia Tech
  5.  Duke
  6. Virginia Tech
  7. Virginia

Mandel’s Atlantic Predictions:

  1. Florida State
  2. Clemson
  3. Louisville
  4. Boston College
  5. Wake Forest
  6. NC State
  7. Syracuse
