We here at Pittsburgh Sports Now want to thank everyone for their loyalty. With the month of August finished up, we’re excited to say that we had our second highest month of traffic ever last month (our all-time high was in February during National Letter of Intent Month). Our traffic since the start of Pitt camp has been tremendous and we want to say thanks for recognizing the product we’re putting out.

** We’ll start off with a Duquesne basketball recruiting note. Tshiefu Ngalakulondi, a small forward from Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire will start an official visit to Duquesne today. Aside from the Dukes, Ngalakulondi (6-6, 205) holds offers from Drexel, George Mason, Hofstra, LaSalle and St. Bonaventure.

UPDATE (9:42 AM)-

** Last night at midnight was a big milestone for high school juniors as they are now allowed to have contact with college coaches.

Schools are now allowed to text, direct message and email recruits. They can ask the kid to call and they can call you. But coaches can’t place outbound calls to juniors

So, who were the Pitt coaches on the phone with? (We’ll update this throughout the day).

Ohio 4-star DE Alex Reigelsperger – I talked with Coach Narduzzi and he said he was making it a priority to show that they want me. He texted me at 12:03  and was mentioning how excited he was to have me up there and recruit me.”

Reigelsperger will be in town for the Pitt/Penn State game.

UPDATE (10:16 AM)-

Florida 4-star DE Jarrett Jackson – “Coach Salem and Coach Kabala messaged me on Twitter and they just asked how I was doing and talked about our big game this week against Boca.”

UPDATE (10:48 AM)-

Michigan 4-star CB Kalon Gervin – “Coach Narduzzi texted me and said I’m sure you’re  sleeping. This is the first day we can text you and wanted to let you know that we’re excited to begin this recruiting process with you & your family! He asked me to call him today.”

UPDATE (12:11 PM)-

Florida 3-star DE Dennis Briggs – “I talked with Coach Narduzzi, Coach Conklin and Coach Kabala. Coach Conklin and Coach Kabala contacted to make sure that I’m familiar with them and that they want to build a better relationship. Coach Narduzzi contacted me saying he’s excited to start the recruiting process with me and my family. He sent me the edit then after we had a regular conversation. He wants me to come visit the campus and see a game.”

Pennsylvania 4-star QB Kevin Doyle – “Coach Narduzzi sent me a text at 12:20 AM and was one of the first coaches to contact me. Then Coach Canada texted me, Coach Landan Salem, Coach Conklin, Coach Kabala, and they were all very enthusiastic about me and trying to get me to a game. They all also wished me good luck this fall.”

UPDATE (12:19 PM)-

Pennsylania 4-star WR Shaquon Anderson-Butts – “Talked with Coach Narduzzi who told me how much he wanted me there at Pitt.”

UPDATE (12:49 PM)-

Ohio 4-star DE Aeneas Hawkins – “Coach Salem reached out to me and I’m going to talk to Coach Simms later tonight. They’re just telling me how excited they are about me and how they can’t wait to get me back for a visit.”

UPDATE (1:13 PM)-

I was able to confirm that Pitt contacted 4-star Florida WR Jermaine Eskridge. Eskridge made a verbal commitment to South Florida a few weeks ago but then de-commited shortly after.

UPDATE (1:42 PM)-

Penn Hills 2018 WR Julian Major confirmed to me that he was in touch with Pitt coaches today. I’ll have more on Major in a bit.

UPDATE (7:51 PM)-

Clairton 5-star cornerback Lamont Wade is taking advantage of a team he’s interested opening the season on Thursday night.  Wade made the trip to Knoxville, Tennessee today and is watching Tennessee open up the season vs. Appalachian State.

**The Pitt basketball team is hosting a recruit tonight. According to Corey Evans (Roundball Rundown Report) Rhode Island big man Terrell Brown (6-10, 225) is making a visit to Oakland. Brown’s only offer so far is from Purdue but is getting heavy interest from Georgetown, Texas, LSU and Oregon State.
