It appears as though the injury news on Pitt defensive end Dewayne Hendrix isn’t good. If a report that came out today is true, Pat Narduzzi is going to be without one of his top pass rushers for a while.
KDKA-TV’s Rich Walsh is reporting that Hendrix has a broken foot.
Pitt hasn’t released an update but I’d imagine they’ll do so this afternoon at Narduzzi’s press conference.
This news will have a big impact on Pitt’s depth chart at defensive end. Losing Hendrix means that Rori Blair will take over at defensive end and that Allen Edwards and James Folston will be called upon to produce.
Once again, no immediate word on the time frame of this injury but he obviously won’t be back anytime soon. On a personal note, you have to feel bad for Hendrix who was playing in his first game for Pitt after transferring from Tennessee.
