Good morning! We’d like to thank everyone for making it a record week for traffic on Pittsburgh Sports Now. Last week we had our most traffic on the site since February, the week of National Letter of Intent Day. Yesterday was our best day of traffic on Sunday ever. Thank you.

UPDATE (8:55 AM)-
**The question on the minds of Pitt fans this morning is “Who’s the newest commitment?” Last night around 8 PM, head coach Pat Narduzzi tweeted out “Pitt is It” (aka The Pat Signal), which means a player had given him a verbal commitment. The question is who?

According to Chris Peak of Panther-lair, this could be a commitment that doesn’t get “released” until later this month.  If that’s the case, it will be a couple of weeks of trying to guess the players identity.

We can confirm that it isn’t Virginia 4-star DE TyJuan Garbutt or Philadelphia 2018 OG Justin Johnson. We’ll continue to reach out to players that we think it could be and try to eliminate some names.

The other thing that has to be determined is if it’s a 2017 or 2018 prospect? I have a guess on who it might be but I won’t speculate publicly.

UPDATE (9:19)-
** Following this weekend’s game, another player has picked up an offer from Pitt and this player is local. East Allegheny 2018 DE/TE TJ Banks received the news from the coaching staff. Banks is a huge talent and has attended Pitt’s first 2 games this season.

UPDATE (10:09 AM)-
Some updated info on Pitt’s mystery recruit

** Some Pitt hoops recruiting news, Virginia 4-star forward Aamir Simms, who’s a major target of the Panthers coaching staff, made an official visit to Clemson this past weekend.

** Out Pitt Insider was in contact with a player that’s very high on Pitt.

UPDATE (12:06 PM)-
** Following Saturday’s win over Penn State, Pitt received 39 votes in the weekly AP Top 25 rankings. According to that vote total, Pitt would be ranked #31.

UPDATE (2:21 PM)-
** The ACC announced today that Pitt’s game at North Carolina on September 24th will have a kickoff time of 3:30 PM on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

UPDATE (3:33 PM)-
** A recruiting note for the Duquesne basketball program. Last weekend, Tshiefu Ngalakulondi (Proctor Academy) made an official visit to the campus and it appears he’s close to making a decision. Ngalakulondi (6-6, 205) is going to make an official visit to Saint Bonaventure on Wednesday and then will make his college decision next week. Sources tell me that the Duquesne assistant Danny Lawson made a visit to Ngalakulondi last week and a member of Duquesne’s staff will do so again sometime this week. Ngalakulondi is a player that Jim Ferry and his staff would really like to land and are doing everything they can to make that happen.
