Let’s get right into today’s notebook.

** Andy Toole and the Robert Morris basketball program have offered a local product. 2018 center Brandon Stone (6-10, 185) from Southmoreland High School has picked up an offer from the Colonials.

** Disappointing news for the Pitt hoops team yesterday as 4-star forward Aamir Simms gave a verbal commitment to Clemson. The Virginia native was one of the first players that Kevin Stallings offered after getting the Pitt job.

** Speaking of big time talent from Virginia, Stallings and his staff have offered one of the top players in the Class of 2018, who’s from the state of Virginia.

2018 Paul VI (VA) Brandon Slater is a shooting guard (6-6, 180) from Fairfax, Virginia. Pitt joins Maryland, Louisville, USC, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Villanova and Temple as schools that offered Slater. Currently, Slater is rated as one of the Top 50 players in the Class of 2018.

One thing that Pitt has going for them is that Slater is high school teammates with PG Aaron Thompson, who’s a 2017 Pitt commitment and Pitt 2016 recruit Corey Manigault

** Malvern Prep (PA) 2018 QB Kevin Doyle, who’s a target of the Pitt coaching staff, received an offer from Iowa. By the way, Doyle will make an official visit this weekend to Michigan State, a team that many people believe is his favorite.  Doyle visited Pittsburgh for the Pitt/Penn State game.

** 2018 Philadelphia OT Justin Johnson picked up with 8th offer from Vanderbilt. Johnson received an offer from Pitt after visiting for the Pitt/Penn State game. I think Johnson is a player that would be a big pickup for Pitt.

** More Pitt hoops recruiting news, 2017 4-star SF Kimani Lawrence will make an official visit this weekend to Arizona State. Lawrence is rated as one of the Top 50 players in the Class of 2017 and has Pitt as a finalist.

UPDATE (9:23 AM)-
**The Pitt coaches were out this morning evaluating a 4-star talent.  Jordan Nwora (Saxton River, VA) is a 6-7 forward that’s rated as one of the Top 100 players in the country.  Nwora has 25+ offers including from Louisville, Florida, UConn, SMU, Auburn, Xavier,  etc.  Rick Pitino and Louisville were also in the gym.

UPDATE (12:48 PM)-

UPDATE (8:30 PM)-
**Will Kevin Stallings be able to close the deal on a big-time player? Vermont Academy 4-star guard Christian David announced tonight that he’ll make his college decision tomorrow night at 8 PM.  David will choose between Pitt, Butler and Creighton.
