UPDATE (8:51 AM)-

**As we told you last night, Jim Ferry and Duquesne received an impressive commitment from Texas 3-star forward John Walker. Following his decision, I asked Walker about his decision to join the Duquesne program.

“I think the plan that they had already set out for me from the academic advisor (Dr. D) to the strength coach. They just seemed like they were really ready to invest time in me,” said Walker.

“Coach Ferry kept it real from the start and told me how he saw the upside in me. I felt like he really made me a priority by flying out to my school.

Speaking of travel, I asked Walker his impressions of his home for the next 4 years.

“I love how the city felt like the city, but at the same time it felt small and it wasn’t too overwhelming.”

By all accounts, Walker is a talented player who has a chance to make an impact early but he knows there’s still work to be done.

“I know I have to put weight on and we’re looking at the long term of this!”
