Members of the Pitt basketball staff were in Florida today and one player that they were eyeing close was Luguentz Dort.

Dort is a 4-star 2018 shooting guard from Conrad Academy in Orlando, Florida. Dort (6-4, 185) is ranked as one of the Top 50 players in the Class of 2018 and holds offers from Louisville, Oregon and Oklahoma.

“They told me that they really like my game and that they’ve been watching me the whole summer with my AAU team (Brookwood Elite) and that they were also recruiting one of my AAU teammates.”

Dort tells me that this was the first time that he’s actually talked with the Pitt coaching staff.

“I’m a combo guard and I really like to drive to the basketball,” said Dort. “I’m a good transition player that’s pretty fast. I can also hit the 3 point shot that’s strong and athletic.”

Since this is the first Dort’s heard from Pitt, he obviously doesn’t know a lot about them but plans on learning.

“I haven’t really watched them play much so I don’t really know a lot of stuff about them but I do know that they play in the ACC, a really tough conference.”

As I reported earlier, Pitt was also scouting 2018 4-star Orlando small forward Nassir Little. Little is ranked by 247 Sports as one of the top 40 players in the country and holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Auburn and Cincinnati.
