Hamlin Undergoes Surgery

Published

on

We now have an idea of what’s been bothering Pitt freshman cornerback Damar Hamlin for the entire 2016 season.

Sources tell Pittsburgh Sports Now that Hamlin has been bothered by a sports hernia and yesterday underwent surgery in order to correct the problem. From what we understand, the surgery was a success and he should be 100% for the 2017 season.

The question now is whether or not the NCAA will grant Hamlin a medical redshirt considering he only played 8-9 quarters this season.

Hamlin, a 4-star recruit, entered this season as the jewel of Pitt’s 2016 recruiting class but was never fully healthy all season. If Pat Narduzzi is going to fix his defense, he’ll need a healthy Hamlin in order to do that.
